Pay up: Foreclosure investigator targets banks for contributions

WHAT: Campaign contribution trackers reported Iowa Attorney General Tom Miller receiving a big surge of cash from lawyers representing major banks after he announced he would investigate nationwide foreclosure scams.

HOW: Miller, who won re-election, admitted to Time magazine that he made fundraising calls to national firms working for Bank of America, Chase and others after he announced his bank investigation.

WHY IT’S OUTRAGEOUS: Miller said he does not believe his fundraising efforts among lawyers representing his potential investigation targets give an impression of impropriety or conflict of interest.
