In a strange case of mistaken identity, a man was robbed at gunpoint Monday in his own Parkmerced residence after a friend let the crook in, cops said.
The 20-year-old victim was at home with a friend in the 100 block of Tapia Drive around 7 p.m. when he heard a knock on the door. The friend answered the door and a man in his 20s outside asked for “Jim,” police said.
The resident’s name was Tim so the crook was invited into the house, cops said. Once inside he pulled out a handgun and stole the victim’s cellphone. He fled the home on foot with a female accomplice, who was also in her 20s, police said.
No arrests have been made.
