Parking, transit on holiday schedules

San Francisco motorists will get a break from The City on Saturday.

In observance of Christmas, meters in nearly every part of The City will be shut off, allowing drivers to park for free. The Port will be the only area in San Francisco where motorists will have to feed the meters on Saturday, according to the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Agency. Residential permit parking, commuter lanes and street sweeping restrictions will not be enforced.

Also on Saturday, Muni will be running its normal Sunday schedule, meaning service at Metro stations will start at 8 a.m. instead of 6 a.m.
