Parking lot attendant assaulted over price of parking at SoMa lot

A parking lot attendant was assaulted at a South of Market area parking lot on Friday, police said.

The 44-year-old victim was working at a parking lot in the 700 block of Harrison Street about 11 p.m. when a 4-door sedan drove in.

A man in the car began arguing with the attendant over the price of parking, police said, and got out of the car and assaulted the attendant.

Several other people in the car reportedly got out and join in on the assault, police said.

After assaulting the attendant, all the suspects got back into the car and fled. No arrests have been made. Police believe there was at least four people in the sedan, but did not have detailed descriptions of the suspects.

The victim was taken to the hospital for his injuries, which were not life threatening.
