Could it be possible that our long national nightmare is over — and Paris Hilton’s 15 minutes of fame are finally up?
The heir-head — who reportedly flipped out on a “View” producer last week after Barbara Walters grilled her on her claims of charity work — is said to be fuming over lackluster ratings for her new Oxygen reality show, “The World According to Paris.” An insider told Popeater the celebutante attributes the low viewership to a glitch by the network.
“Paris is furious that the show didn’t premiere at the time it was supposed to,” the source said (Kathy Hilton, is that you?). “She worked her tail off doing promotion and publicity for the show and then because of a technical mistake, the show aired at a completely different time in a lot of markets.”
But a rep said, “The show premiered at 10 p.m. on Wednesday, June 1 as was promoted. There were no technical mistakes.”
So, what really went wrong? Maybe people are just not that into Paris.
“Paris’ second season on that MTV show where she found a new friend was a disaster, and she hasn’t been able to sell a magazine cover since the Kardashians arrived,” one TV insider told Popeater. “If the numbers remain less than the 400,000 that tuned in last week, she could get pulled off the air.”
“This could be the last nail in the coffin,” another industry source said. “She has been replaced by ‘Teen Moms’ and Snooki. She would have been better off not doing a new reality show at all than doing one that proves no one cares.”
It’s hard to feel sorry for Paris, but you have to admit there are few worse fates for a veteran fame-hound than being “replaced by ‘Teen Moms’ and Snooki.”
A new tabloid cover story accuses Kim Kardashian of cheating on her fiance — and she isn’t happy about it. TMZ obtained a letter from her attorney threatening legal action if In Touch magazine published the tale, which it went ahead and did anyway.
The story claims the socialite had a five-month fling with NFL player Bret Lockett while seeing NBA player Kris Humphries, to whom she’s now engaged. Her reps told TMZ she’s never even met Bret, and her lawyer calls the allegations “damaging, defamatory and an invasion of her privacy.”
Per her rep, Kim is planning to sue. That’s good, because she was running out of revenue streams.
Far from having broken up, Cameron Diaz and Alex Rodriguez might, in fact, be taking their relationship to the next level. The actress and the Yankees slugger were photographed on Monday touring a Miami site where he is building a home — and we can’t help but wonder if she was giving him a few notes on her decor of choice.
Though recent reports claimed the on-off couple of a year had split up, they were seen together at an MTV Movie Awards after-party. And the “Bad Teacher” star doesn’t seem ruffled by buzz that her beau dumped her.
“If I want to read gossip, I read about somebody else’s life. I can’t worry about what other people say,” Cam told “Extra.” “It’s fine to say whatever you want as long as you actually don’t know what’s going on in my life.”
Well, we do have some idea, considering Cameron is constantly photographed everywhere she goes.
