Pacifica man arrested for Santa Rosa home invasion robbery

Santa Rosa police on Tuesday arrested a Pacifica man suspected in an armed home invasion robbery Sunday evening.

Steven Andrew Chavez, 21, was arrested on a $120,000 warrant at 2:25 p.m. Tuesday at his home in the 400 block of Lynbrook Drive in Pacifica, Santa Rosa police Sgt. Steve Fraga said.

Inside the home, police found evidence that linked Chavez to the robbery, as well as marijuana believed to be for sale, Fraga said.

The robbery happened at about 8:40 p.m. Sunday at an apartment in the 900 block of Sonoma Avenue in Santa Rosa.

The two residents who were robbed reported that two men had followed them and their guest into the apartment, bound their hands and feet with duct tape and held them at gunpoint while they ransacked the home, Fraga said.

The suspects eventually unbound the visitor, who then helped the thieves load electronics and marijuana into an SUV, Fraga said. The visitor then left with the suspects.

The residents were able to free themselves and call police.

Police have identified the visitor as Daniel Vincent Flores, 21, of Forestville, and believe he was involved in the robbery. Flores and the third suspect are still at large, police said.
