Out-of-towner Coit Tower, Botanical fees up for debate

The Board of Supervisors Budget and Finance Committee will vote Wednesday on whether to approve an increase fees for non-residents visiting the Coit Tower and a new non-resident fee for entry into the Botanical Garden. The fee hikes were introduced by Mayor Gavin Newsom as part of his plan to balance the city budget.

For entry into Coit Tower, non-San Francisco residents would have to pay $2 more for the same access residents would enjoy. Currently all adults pay $5, seniors $3 and youth $3. For non-residents, each of those fees would increase by $2, making it $7 for adults and $5 for seniors and youth.

For the Botanical Garden, non-residents who are adults would have to pay $7 and seniors and youth $5. Entry now is free for all.
