The British pop group’s management team is reportedly furious with the unofficial line of “One Erection – Up All Night” condoms being sold online, the New York Daily News reports.
They claim the band’s image is being “shamefully exploited” and that they are seriously thinking about “bringing in the lawyers.”
“It’s only a small U.S. online firm, so management weren’t too concerned at first,” an insider told the U.K.’s Daily Star. “But they are still worried (it) damages the group’s image.”
The packaging resembles cover art for One Direction’s album “Up All Night.” The ads read: “Stay ‘UP ALL NIGHT’ with these FDA approved ONE ERECTION condoms. There is only one direction to go with these babies and that is UP!”
Apparently, One Direction singers Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson are less bothered by the promotion than are their handlers.
“The boys heard about the condoms and found them hilarious,” the insider said. “They even joked about buying a few packets for a laugh.”
