One dead in Richmond district shooting

  • SFPD responded to a four-unit apartment building and found one person shot to death in the Richmond district Wednesday evening.

One person is dead following a shooting in the Richmond neighborhood Wednesday evening, but suspects are still at large, according to police.

San Francisco Police Sgt. Michael Andraychak said calls to 911 were received by police dispatch around 9 p.m. Wednesday for possible shots fired in the 400 block of 23rd Avenue.

Andraychak said police responded to a four-unit apartment building and found one person shot to death.

The victim is described as a white male between 20 and 30 years old.

Andraychak said he was declared dead at the scene.

No suspects are in custody and there are no suspect descriptions.

The shooting continues to be investigated by the San Francisco Police and the Medical Examiner’s office. Andraychak said the shooting is being treated as a homicide.
