We totally couldn’t believe the tabloid report that Will Smith and Jada Pinkett Smith were splitting up after 13 years of marriage — and it turns out it totally wasn’t credible. After In Touch magazine claimed the multitalented pair were parting ways, denials came swiftly. Whew!
“Although we are reluctant to respond to these types of press reports, the rumors circulating about our relationship are completely false,” the longtime power couple said in a statement. “We are still together, and our marriage is intact.”
Before Mr. and Mrs. Smith confirmed the tale was bogus, Will’s son Trey, from his first marriage, blasted the story via Twitter, writing, “Will and Jada getting a DIVORCE … NOT TRUE AT ALL!! RETWEET.”
And Jada’s rep responded to TMZ’s call for comment about the story by saying, “What? ‘In Touch’ said that? I know nothing about this ... Lord. I’m going back to bed.”
That just might be the best publicist response we’ve ever heard. And we’re so glad Will and Jada are just fine — the idea of one of Hollywood’s most together couples splitting was heartbreaking!
Toxicology reports saying that Amy Winehouse had “no illegal substances” in her system at the time of her death didn’t answer her family’s questions about the circumstances of her sudden passing at age 27.
After test results came in, the “Back to Black” singer’s loved ones issued a statement saying, “Toxicology results returned to the Winehouse family by authorities have confirmed that there were no illegal substances in Amy’s system at the time of her death. Results indicate that alcohol was present but it cannot be determined as yet if it played a role in her death.”
“This has been one long nightmare and it’s still not over,” the “Back to Black” singer’s bereaved father Mitch Winehouse told a pal, according to the U.K.’s Sun. “We just need to know what killed our little girl. But we’re a step further to the truth now, which is a small comfort.”
We’re very happy for Kim Kardashian, really we are. But we’re slightly freaked out that her sister’s ominous prediction about her wedding rivaling the royals’ has come true. The reality star’s nuptials with Kris Humphries have generated almost as much breathless, obsessive tabloid coverage asWill and Kate’s.
Fine, we’ll allow that the People magazine breakdown of why various celeb guests were invited piqued our interest — and satisfied our curiosity as to why, say, Demi Lovato made the list. (Turns out she met Kim at the White House Press Correspondents’ Dinner, of all places.)
And all right, we were kind of interested in reading about the bride’s altar look of a Vera Wang gown and elegant updo — accented, naturally, by a blinged-out headpiece.
But we rolled our eyes at the Life&Style magazine exposé on Kim’s last-minute jitters during a manicure appointment. “Kim was really shaking, so the nail technician asked her if it was nerves,” a spy said.
And when we spotted an OK! article entitled “Kim Kardashian’s Brow Expert Reveals Pre-Wedding Brow Shape Countdown,” we had to say: Enough! We now know way too much about this woman’s hair and nails!
