A day after San Francisco police disbanded the Occupy SF encampment at Justin Herman Plaza, protesters re-erected tents and tarps as officers continued monitoring the situation Monday afternoon.
Police spokesman Sgt. Michael Andraychak said the department had no immediate plans to take the tents down again.
“We’re not commenting with respect to what may or may not happen tonight,” Andraychak said. He said police have been in regular communication with protesters about their activities, and continue to warn them that erecting tents and camping in city parks are a violation of the Park Code.
“As always, our goal is to facilitate First Amendment rights,” he said.
