President Obama, the White House, and the Democratic National Committee bombard us with so much false and misleading pablum about special interests and lobbyists that it’s hard to see it as anything other than a dishonest smear campaign.
The latest installment of Obama’s fake war against the special interests is an email today from Organizing for America, the heir of the Obama campaign and an arm of the DNC.
Some highlights, with my responses:
The special interests in Washington are not happy, and it’s because of something you did.
Since President Obama moved into the White House, this movement has stripped them of their influence, proving we could take on the lobbyists and corporate cash with good, old-fashioned organizing.
At the risk of patting myself on the back too much, but if the special interests in Washington are unhappy with me, it’s probably for pointing out how:
So, it doesn’t sound like Obama stripped the special interests of their power.
And “corporate cash”? Did I mention that Democrats have gotten more in aggregate from all of those industries’ PACs than Republicans have?
