The director of programs and communications at the nonprofit SFMade is producing the first San Francisco Made Week, which runs Saturday through May 27. SFMade focuses on building and supporting the manufacturing sector in The City.
What is the aim of San Francisco Made Week?
To increase awareness of the SFMade brand and the SFMade member companies. We want people to recognize the brand and find out where they can support the companies and buy products at large.
What can people expect from the San Francisco Made Week?
There will be something for everyone. The idea is that all week long consumers can find SFMade products across The City in SFMade’s member companies’ retail stores. Our logo and details will be in the windows. There will be a Pop-Up Shop on May 21 with 20 member companies selling their locally made products over the I/O incubation space in the Mission. There will be a number of free factory tours, including Timbuk2 and Ritual Coffee Roasters Roastery, that you must sign up for. The big fundraising gala, “Ramp it Up,” is on May 25 at McRoskey Mattress with companies exhibiting and awards.
