Nightclub violence: Jelly’s closes after shooting

A Mission Bay nightclub that was the site of a fatal shooting early Sunday has closed temporarily, police said.

About 1:40 a.m. Sunday, Lee Farley, 39, of Richmond was shot and killed during an argument that started inside dance club Jelly’s, police said.

The fight escalated and spilled outside, where the shooter, who’s still at large, pulled out a gun and shot Farley in the chest.

Jelly’s, located at 295 Terry A. Francois Blvd. at Pier 50, voluntarily closed for seven days beginning Monday, Officer Samson Chan said.

“I appreciate the club’s decision after this tragedy and hope we can all work together to ensure the public safety of our neighborhoods,” Supervisor David Chiu said.
