Newsom Tracker: Tweets three openings

The media is still being left a few giant steps behind Mayor Gavin Newsom’s public appearances. Saturday was another deceptively quiet day for Newsom. Despite his office sending out a notice that his schedule was free of any public events, Newsom made at least three appearances around The City, according to his Twitter feed. Newsom began by showing up for the reopening of the Sunnyside Conservatory -- which was originally built in 1898 and underwent a $4.2 million renovation. He went on to make unannounced appearances at the reopening of the Midtown Terrace Playground and the opening of the Mabuhay Health Center. He called it a “great day in San Francisco.” Maybe the lack of reporters there to ask him bothersome questions made it all the more better for The City’s leader.
