Newsom thinks circumcision ban proposal makes SF look ‘out of touch’

You could tell Mayor Gavin Newsom was stifling all the obvious jokes he could have made when asked about the recent effort to ban circumcisions in San Francisco.

Instead of saying “it won’t cut it with voters” the mayor just went “whoa.”

When he heard about the proposal, Newsom immediately called City Hall to find out who had proposed this legislation.

To his relief, it wasn’t his nemesis Supervisor Chris Daly. “Not even Daly would do this,” Newsom said chuckling.

But in all seriousness, the mayor ticked off a list of reasons why this should not be supported by voters, including the fact that everyone across the nation is mocking us right now.

“Why do something that makes us look like we are completely out of touch.” But if it does make it to the ballot, Newsom vowed to ... uhhh, nip it in the bud.
