Newsom nominates new commissioners 

Mayor Gavin Newsom nominated a trio of community leaders to three City commissions who will "bring a wealth of experience and enthusiasm" to their positions.

Rodney A. Fong, a native San Franciscan and third generation operator and owner of the Wax Museum at Fisherman’s Wharf, was named to the Planning Commission. Fong, who is president and marketing director at the Wax Museum, has been on the Port Commission since 2006 and is currently its president.

Francis "FX" Crowley, president of the San Francisco Public Utilities Commission, was named to the Port Commission. Crowley has more than 20 years experience in the theatrical and motion picture industry and is the business manager/secretary for the International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts, Local 16, representing 1,500 theatrical, stage, film and convention technicians.

Agnes Briones Ubalde, vice president of Community Development and Community Relations at Wells Fargo & Co., was named to the Redevelopment Commission. She has served as executive director of the Small Business Commission as well as director of service integration in the Mayor’s Office of Criminal Justice.
