Mayor Gavin Newsom took some time out of his Hawaiian vacation to focus on one of the finer aspects of life – wine.
This afternoon, the mayor was giddy to announce on his Twitter account – where he mostly discusses work-related matters – that a bottle of wine made by the winery he launched 14 years ago received top marks from a well-known wine reviewer.
“PlumpJack 2007 Reserve Cab just received 99 points (out of 100) from Robert Parker,” the Twitter post said.
Newsom may have just used his Twitter account as a golden marketing opportunity for the wine brand. After all, the media learned to follow the account closely after he made significant announcements on the site – including his candidacy for governor and the birth of his daughter.
As you can see, we’re suckers for politics and wine.
