Prosecutors say they’re going after a violent pimp following another Internet sex bust at a Peninsula hotel.
Bryan David Armstrong, 25, of Stockton, was arrested on Sept. 29 on allegations of pimping out a 19-year-old woman on seedy website Myredbook.com.
He is scheduled to be arraigned in South San Francisco Superior Court on Tuesday.
The raunchy hookups site lists reviews of escort and massage parlor services.
Peninsula police departments conduct stings using the website. A cop in South San Francisco found advertisements suggesting prostitution at the local La Quinta Hotel, according to San Mateo County District Attorney Steve Wagstaffe.
Police set up a date through the site. When cops went to the hotel they found Armstrong in a room with a 19-year-woman wearing only a bra and panties, Wagstaffe said.
Also in the room was a laptop computer open to Myredbook.com, the district attorney said.
The woman told cops that Armstrong had convinced her to prostitute for him and threatened to “smash down on her” if she didn’t follow orders.
Armstrong’s phone was “full of text messages showing him trying to convince other girls to work as a prostitute for him,” Wagstaffe said.
Armstrong is out of custody on a $20,000 bail bond, which he posted the same day as his arrest.
In August, a Modesto madam was busted selling a 17-year-old girl out of a Redwood City motel. Eight days later, two more suspects were arrested on suspicion of selling two 16-year-olds out of a South San Francisco Travelodge motel room that was littered with condoms, lingerie and counterfeit bills.
In both cases, the girls had been advertised on myredbook.com.
