Musician to urge restoration of shelter funding

Award-winning musician Moby will join state Sen. Leland Yee in San Francisco today to urge Gov. Arnold Schwarzenegger to sign a bill to restore $16.3 million in funding for the state’s domestic violence shelters.

The state Senate on Wednesday unanimously approved the legislation.

Moby will donate all the proceeds from a Warfield concert tonight to state domestic violence shelters.

Moby and the California Partnership to End Domestic Violence recently established a permanent fund to benefit California shelters.
