A Muni train crashed into a police car and hospitalized four people, including two cops, in the first of two light rail accidents in southeast San Francisco on Friday morning.

Around 5:45 a.m., a T-Third light rail vehicle T-boned the patrol car at the intersection of Third and 22nd streets, which is in the Dogpatch neighborhood, city officials said.

Two cops, the train’s operator and a female passenger were transported to area hospitals with minor injuries, San Francisco police Sgt. Daryl Fong said.

The train wasn’t going very fast prior to the impact, Fire Lt. Mindy Talmadge said.

The second crash happened around 9:15 a.m. at Third and King streets, Muni spokesman Paul Rose said. A T-Third struck a car, but this time there were no injuries, Rose said.

Both crashes are under investigation, Rose added.
