Motown con man routed from Hyde-Out

Cops believe they’ve hauled in the lowdown Motown crook that has been conning local business owners.

And, get this, he was arrested at none other than the Hyde-Out bar in Nob Hill, police said. You can’t make this stuff up.

Alan Young, 57, is allegedly a sham songster who poses as various Motown celebrities in order to con Bay Area small-business owners. Last week, San Francisco police released Young’s picture to the media following at least two reports of his alleged con jobs in The City.

An employee at the Hyde-Out bar recognized him from a news article and called cops.

The alleged career criminal convinces “star-struck” business owners to wine, dine, house and entertain him, police said.

Cops say the legendary fake is known to frequent hotel bars and restaurants “looking for his marks.” He sweet talks strangers, introducing himself as a Motown music man, they said.
