A motorcyclist who died after crashing into a car on state Highway 1 near Pescadero last week has been identified by the Santa Clara County Medical Examiner’s Office as Barry Davis of San Mateo.

Davis, 57, was riding north just south of Gazos Creek Road on a 2013 Harley-Davidson with a 26-year-old female passenger when the crash happened around 4 p.m. Thursday, according to the California Highway Patrol.

A Ford Mustang driven by a 29-year-old Pescadero man was heading south when the car turned left in front of the motorcycle.

The motorcycle struck the right side of the car, and both Davis and his passenger were thrown from their vehicle, according to the CHP.

They were both taken to Stanford Hospital, where Davis succumbed to his injuries, the CHP said. His passenger suffered major injuries in the collision, according to the CHP.

The Mustang’s driver had only minor injuries.
