Motorcycle rider injured in South San Francisco crash 

A man was hospitalized with major injuries after a solo motorcycle crash in South San Francisco on Friday morning, police said.

The accident occurred about 6 a.m. in the area of Hickey and Junipero Serra boulevards, police said.

After the motorcyclist rode through the intersection, he struck a curb and was thrown from the motorcycle into thick bushes along the side of the road, according to police. The driver was transported to San Francisco General Hospital to be treated for a large laceration on his leg. He is expected to survive, police said.

The cause of the accident is under investigation.
