Word was going around yesterday afternoon that notorious metal outfit Motley Crue were preparing to make a big announcement on — of all things — “Piers Morgan Tonight.” They did. They surely did. For the entire month of February, 2012, they’ll be performing a first-ever Hard Rock residency at The Joint, at the Hard Rock Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas.
Naturally, it’s called “Motley Crue in Sin City,” and tickets (which start at $45) go on sale tomorrow at 10 a.m., at www.motley.com, www.thejointlasvegas.com and www.ticketmaster.com.
Three decades into their decadent career, the original members (Vince Neil, Nikki Sixx, Tommy Lee and Mick Mars) have united to create a one-of-a-kind, interactive experience of a classic Vegas show.
“It’s a dream come true for me,” says Neil of the gigs (Feb. 3, 4, 5, 8, 10, 11, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 19). “Especially living in and loving Las Vegas.”
Lee, of course, puts it in more straightforward Cruespeak: “I don’t know about you, but when I think of Motley Crue, I think of filthy sex, drugs, a really big show, and way too much fun. Sounds like Las Vegas, doesn’t it? A match made in heaven!”
