Are you ready to get depressed? Well, more depressed, anyway: Emo god Morrissey has just announced that Thursday night's show at Oakland's Fox Theater has been canceled.

Moz’s drummer Matt Walker has suffered an eye injury, according to a press release. The injury is not expected to affect any shows other than tonight's.

This is seriously bad news for Bay Area Morrissey fans as the last time the eternally blue crooner was in the East Bay in 2009, he called out sick to a sold-out show at the Paramount Theatre only to be spotted later that evening at the DNA Lounge.

Stop me if you think you've heard this one before.

Tonight's concert is the third time in seven years this charming man has dropped the mic. Remember the Alice@97.3 "Now & Zen" concert series in Golden Gate Park? Morrissey was supposed to headline the show with Tears for Fears in 2004, but that was a miserable lie.

Take solace though, friends, I'm sure there's something in his extensively bleak catalogue that will properly assuage your pain. I recommend "Suedehead" at full volume once every 2 hours, if only so you can imagine the Mozzer apologizing personally.

For more information, including details on refunds, go to www.apeconcerts.com. No word yet on whether the show will be rescheduled.
