More than $16 million in transportation improvements up for approval tomorrow

More than $16 million in transportation improvements for Muni and BART could be approved Tuesday by the San Francisco County Transportation Authority.

Of that total, $14.9 million will be directed toward Muni’s new central control and communications facility. Another $1.2 million will be funneled to BART to improve the agency’s measure against water leaks at its Powell Street Station. Lastly, about $150,000 could be allocated for bike and pedestrian improvements in San Francisco.

The Authority, which is governed by The City’s Board of Supervisors, controls the portion of San Francisco’s sales tax that goes toward transportation improvements.
