Monthly garage rates in San Francisco twice as expensive as national average 

Not that this will come as a shock to anyone, but parking in San Francisco is expensive.

In a comparison of 10 different cities from across the nation, San Francisco tied for first as the costliest city for garage parking, according to a recent study by the Municipal Transportation Agency.

San Francisco parking garages charge an average of $400 a month, tied with Chicago as the most-expensive, the study reported. Of the cities studied, Atlanta had the cheapest rates, at $148 a month. The national average was $198.96.
