Hanging out in the Mission is no day in the park, as one San Francisco man learned last night.

A 48-year-old man told police he was sitting in Jose Coronado Playground at 21st and Folsom streets just before 7 p.m. when a man he did not know walked up and began punching him “for no reason.”

The suspect, described as a man in his early 20s, bolted west on 21st and then south on Shotwell Street, police said.

The victim was reportedly transported to the hospital with a facial fracture.
