Scarlett Johansson says the rumors of her sleeping around are completely untrue. At least, right now they are.
Oh, sure, she still thinks monogamy goes against instinct, but she’s oh-so-happy with her man, "Black Dahlia" co-star Josh Hartnett.
"Josh is very sweet," Johansson told Allure magazine. "He’s a good boy. A great person. I’m very lucky and I’m very happy. Contrary to popular belief, I’m not promiscuous. There does seem to be a mistaken belief out there that I am sexually available somehow — which is not to say that I’m not open-minded about sex, yet I wouldn’t say I’m a serial monogamist, either. I mean, I went through periods of time when I was, ah, single. But when I’m in a relationship, I’m in a relationship."
Did you get all that?
Johansson goes on in the November issue, hitting newsstands Oct. 24, to defend her original statement that humans are just not programmed for monogamy.
"I do think on some basic level we are animals, and by instinct we kind of breed accordingly," the 21-year-old actress said. "But as much as I believe that, I work really hard when I’m in a relationship to make it work in a monogamous way."
Leave the political humor to the professionals, Babs
Barbra Streisand tried to channel her inner-Jon Stewart Monday night and inject a little political humor into her Madison Square Garden concert, but the crowd wasn’t having it.
According to The Associated Press, Streisand and a George W. Bush look-alike exchanged barbs, but the audience started booing. Strange reaction from fans who paid $250 for a single ticket, don’t you think?
Well, Babs thought so, too, saying, "Shut the [bleep] up! Shut up if you can’t take a joke!"
Johnny & Vanessa heading down the aisle
After eight years together and two kids, Johnny Depp and Vanessa Paradis are finally going to make it official.
Depp and Paradis, who live in a $1.5 million homein the South of France, are hammering out the details of the upcoming nuptials, but don’t expect a gigantic Hollywood shindig.
"Johnny and Vanessa are planning to get married next summer at their villa," a source told The Daily Express. "It will be a private event rather than a showbiz extravaganza."
Depp, who was married to musician Lori Anne Allison for a spell and dated Winona Ryder (hey, who hasn’t?), Kate Moss and Sherilyn Fenn, has often said he wasn’t too keen on the idea of marriage, but life with Paradis and their children seems to have changed the "Pirates of the Caribbean" star’s mind.
"He went off the idea of marriage because of his relationship history. But he’ll do it if Vanessa and his kids want him to," the source said. "Johnny and Vanessa are happier and more in love than most married couples."
When in Rome …
As usual, ABC’s latest "Bachelor," Prince Lorenzo Borghese, is a dud.
According to old Rollins College buddies, Prince Borghese (apparently, he’s Italian royalty but he grew up in — wait for it — New Jersey) isn’t exactly a catch. Go figure.
"He was kind of a tool," one Rollins alum told PageSix.com. "He was the khaki, button-down shirt, frat boy type who dated really annoying sorority girls. He was not very interesting at all and always dropped his name and ‘title.’"
Honestly, any lady that signs up for a reality show to find her true love deserves a guy like Borghese.
