Man, woman assaulted, robbed of cellphone 

They wanted a picture but got a beating instead.

A couple who wanted to preserve a memory with a snapshot was punched and robbed by a couple of thugs Saturday in the SoMa, police said.

The man and a woman, both in their 30s, were walking near the intersection of Sixth and Minna streets around 8:50 p.m. when they asked a man in his 40s to take a picture of them with their cellphone, police said.

The man took their picture and took off with their phone, cops said. The male victim attempted to stop the crook and retrieve his phone only to be punched in the face. Another thug joined in on the beating. He was described also a man in his 40s.

The female victim was also punched in the face and the two brutes robbed them of another cellphone, a wallet and cash, police said.

The victim’s complained of pain to their faces but refused medical help. No arrests have been made.
