A man was struck multiple times in the head with a baseball bat out near Ocean Beach on Monday, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was apparently arguing with the suspect, a man in his 30s, at the Great Highway and Fulton Street about 4:45 p.m., police said.

As the argument escalated, the suspect struck the victim in the head multiple times with the bat, police said, before fleeing on foot.

The victim sustained a bloody nose and bruised face and was treated at the hospital. The injuries, however, were not life threatening, police said.

No arrest has been made.
