A man stabbed two 18-year-old women with an unknown object after an argument on a Muni bus at 11th and Mission streets Monday, police said.
The argument erupted on the 14-Mission bus about 6:40 p.m. when the man in his 40s "brushed past" the teens on the bus, making contact with them, Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.
Unhappy with the contact, the teens apparently began verbally attacking him, and during the argument one of the teenagers punched the man.
The man punched back, Toomer said, and then pulled out the object and stabbed both of them.
The man then hopped off the bus and was last seen fleeing southbound on 11th Street.
The teenagers were not cooperative with police investigators, Sgt. Dennis Toomer said.
They were transported to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries not considered life threatening, police said.
