A man was stabbed and pepper-sprayed during the course of an argument in the Tenderloin on Monday, police said.

The 56-year-old victim and female suspect reportedly got into an argument at O'Farrell and Jones streets about 6:30 a.m. when the woman pepper-sprayed the man.

The victim went to walk away and felt a pain in his back, police said, and when he turned around, he saw the woman holding a knife.

He was hospitalized for his injuries, which were not life threatening.

The woman was described by police as being about 27-years-old. No arrest has been made.
