Man robs parking lot attendant, steals car from lot

A parking lot attendant was robbed in the first block of Franklin Street on Wednesday, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.

A man approached the attendant about noon and pulled out a handgun, Shyy said. The suspect then grabbed the keys to a car parked in the lot and demanded cash from the parking attendant.

He then took the cash and drove off northbound on Franklin in the stolen car, Shyy said, which was described as a silver 4-door sedan.

The 59-year-old attendant was not injured in the robbery, and the other victim in the case is the 73-year-old man who owns the stolen vehicle.

The suspect is described as a man aged 30 to 40 and was last seen wearing a black jacket and had short hair, Shyy said. No further description was available.
