A man was robbed of his necklace before being carjacked in the Mission district Saturday, police Officer Albie Esparza said.
The 39-year-old victim was sitting in his car with a friend in the 3100 block of 26th Street about 9:30 p.m. The victim and his friend got out of the car and the friend left the scene. The victim then began talking toward three men standing at Folsom and 26th streets, Esparza said.
One of the three men flashed a gun and demanded the victim give up his necklace, Esparza said. The gun-toting goon then ripped the necklace off the victim and told him to leave.
When the victim turned around, he saw the suspect fleeing the scene in his red Toyota sedan, Esparza said. The victim had inadvertently left the keys inside.
It was unknown as of Monday if all three men were in the car or involved in the robbery.
