Man robbed at gunpoint as he leaves Mission district bank

A man who just had conducted business in a bank in the Mission district was robbed at gunpoint Monday as he left the establishment, police Officer Albie Esparza said.

The 29-year-old victim exited the bank in the 3200 block of 21st Street about 11:27 a.m. when he was accosted by man holding a gun, Esparza said. The man then went through the victim's pockets and took his wallet and cash.

The suspect then fled to a waiting 4-door sedan that had two other people in it, a man and woman of unknown age, Esparza said.

The suspect with the gun was described as a man of unknown age wearing a white t-shirt, blue jeans and white tennis shoes, Esparza said. No arrest has been made.
