A 55-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of assault after he reportedly slammed a woman’s head into a parked car in the Tenderloin on Tuesday, police Officer Gordon Shyy said.
Jesse Flores, a San Francisco resident, was reportedly hanging on the corner of Mason and Eddy streets at about 3 p.m. when he and the 48-year-old victim got into an argument.
During the argument, Flores is alleged to have grabbed the woman by the back of her head and slammed it into a nearby parked car, Shyy said. He also reportedly punched her multiple times before slamming her onto the car. A 27-year-old male bystander attempted to intervene and Flores allegedly punched him, too.
Police arrived on the scene and arrested Flores. The woman was treated at the hospital for her injuries, which were reportedly not life-threatening. The bystander refused medical treatment and did not want to press charges, Shyy said.
Flores was booked on a felony charge of assault with a deadly weapon, Shyy said.
