A man was assaulted and robbed in the Tenderloin on Wednesday over some reportedly defective DVDs, police said.

The 51-year-old victim was approached at Jones Street and Golden Gate Avenue by a man in his 50s about 7:30 p.m. who accused the victim of selling him DVDs that did not work, police said. The victim said that he didn't sell any DVDs.

The disgruntled film buff then punched the victim in the mouth and stole his cellphone before fleeing on foot.

The victim sustained a cut lip and walked himself to the hospital, police said. No arrest has been made.
