A man was jumped by three thugs in the Tenderloin on Tuesday, police said.

The 28-year-old victim was in the 200 block of Jones Street about 11:45 p.m. when he was jumped. One of the suspects choked the victim with a chain while the other two goons punched the victim numerous times.

The suspects fled the scene on foot before police arrived. The victim was not robbed, only beaten, police said. There was very little description information Wednesday morning.

The victim was taken to the hospital for injuries to his face and head, but the injuries were not life threatening.
