A man was shot in the leg in the Tenderloin district Tuesday night during what might have been a robbery attempt, police said.

The 38-year-old victim was reportedly standing on the sidewalk at Eddy and Larkin streets when one of two suspects demanded his property and then shot him about 9 p.m.

The gunman then ran across the street and fled in a sedan with a second suspect. The vehicle was last scene heading eastbound on Eddy, police said.

The victim was taken to San Francisco General Hospital with injuries that are not life threatening, police Officer Gordon Shyy said. No arrest had been made as of Wednesday morning.

The suspects were described as men in their 20s and 30s wearing all black clothing and fleeing in a grey sedan.
