A man was injured in a shooting in the Mission district early this morning, Officer Albie Esparza said.

The victim was walking in the area of 16th and Dolores streets near Grace Fellowship Community Church about 5 a.m. when two men exited a vehicle and reportedly tried to rob the victim at gunpoint.

The suspects reportedly shot the victim because he was uncooperative, Esparza said.

The victim had been hospitalized in critical condition, but has since stabilized.

Descriptions of the suspects and vehicle are vague, Esparza said, as the victim was in an out of consciousness and could not provide much information to police.
