Man hit in face with bat, robbed on Mission Street

Police are hunting brutal thugs that smacked a 26-year-old man in the face with a baseball bat before robbing him on Mission Street on Saturday night, police said.

The victim was briefly unconscious after the assault near the intersection of Cortland Avenue around 11 p.m., and when he awoke a suspect with a knife was standing over him while the other suspect who had belted him with the bat was going through his pant pockets, police said.

The suspects were described as Hispanic men in their mid-20s. The victim was transported to the hospital, and no arrests have been made, police said.
