Police released little information about a man who was found stabbed to death in a doorway at a hotel in the Mission district early Monday.
Around 6 a.m., a woman, likely an acquaintance, frantically called police to say there was a man who had been stabbed and was lying in a doorway at Prita Hotel, 2284 Mission St., near 19th Street, police said.
When officers responded, they found Luis Alanza Montoya of San Francisco. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
However, they did not release any other information.
Montoya’s death is The City’s 22nd homicide this year. By the end of May last year, The City had recorded 19 homicides. There were 45 in all of 2009.
