A 25-year-old man was killed inside a café at Polk Street and Geary Street Thursday afternoon, according to police officials.

According to San Francisco Police Department Sgt. Michael Andraychack, the victim, described as a black male, was gunned down by another black male around 4:25 p.m. and fled the scene immediately.

Andraychak said it appears the victim and the suspect knew one another, though how they knew one another is unclear. It is unknown if the shooting was gang or drug related.

“It appears the victim was the intended target,” Andraychak said.

There were no other injuries inside the café, according to Andraychak. The victim, however, was pronounced dead at the scene from “multiple gunshot wounds.”

There are no suspects in custody.

This is San Francisco’s sixth homicide of 2011.
