A 53-year-old man was critically wounded in a drive-by shooting in Bayview-Hunters Point on Tuesday night, police said.

The victim was standing on the street at the intersection of Revere Avenue and Crisp Street about 9:35 p.m. when a black sedan pulled up. An occupant of that vehicle fired off multiple shots, striking the man in his torso.

He was transported to San Francisco General Hospital and remained in critical condition this morning, Sgt. Danielle Newman said.

No arrests have been made and no suspect description was available.

There were several witnesses to the shooting, people who were about the same age as the victim, Newman said.

"It does not appear that anybody got a good look at who was in the car," the sergeant said.

A motive was not known, and it wasn't clear if the incident was gang related.
