A man was critically injured in a stabbing at UN Plaza on Tuesday, police Officer Tracy Turner said.
The 32-year-old victim was involved in an argument about 11:20 p.m. that escalated into a physical struggle when he was punched in the back of the head by another man, Turner said.
The victim walked away from the attacker, who proceeded to stab the victim in the upper torso before fleeing the scene on foot.
The victim was taken to the hospital with injuries initially considered to be life threatening, although as of Wednesday afternoon his condition was upgraded, Turner said.
No arrest has been made, and the victim was unable to provide police with a detailed description of the attacker, Turner said.
