A man was critically injured in a stabbing in the Tenderloin on Wednesday night, police Sgt. Eric O'Neal said.

Police responded to the 100 block of McAllister Street about 10:15 p.m. and found the victim with a stab wound in his neck, O'Neal said.

The 45-year-old victim was reportedly involved in an argument with the suspect before he was stabbed, police said.

He was taken to the hospital and is listed in critical but stable condition.

The investigation is ongoing and the suspect in the stabbing is still outstanding, O'Neal said. He is reportedly a man in his 40s.
