A man was critically injured in a stabbing in the Tenderloin on Sunday, police said.

The victim was reportedly arguing with the suspect about 9:50 p.m. in the 400 block of O'Farrell Street, police said. The victim tried to block the assault with a suitcase but was stabbed in the torso. The suspect, described by police as a man in his 20s, fled the scene on foot and has not been arrested.

The victim remains in critical condition at the hospital.
