A man was critically injured in a hit-and-run accident on Lombard Street Saturday night, police said.

The 24-year-old victim was hit when he reportedly ran across Lombard at about 11:40 p.m. outside the crosswalk.

The driver failed to stop and fled the scene, police said. The only information on the car police had Monday morning was that it was silver.

The victim was taken to the hospital with a life-threatening head injury.
